The Český Fousek or Bohemian Wire-Haired Pointing Griffon was originally bred in the Czech Republic as a hunting dog. It is wirehaired and has the appearance of having a beard and mustache. A versatile pointer, Český Fousek has the qualities needed to hunt in the field, in the water and in the forest. These dogs are easy to train and very devoted to their owners.

Czech Dog Breeds

The Czech Republic has given the world several interesting dog breeds including the Czech Terrier, the Czech Spotted Dog, the Bohemian Shepard or the Prague Ratter. Although the Czech breeds were created almost exclusively for practical reasons, such as hunting or guarding livestock, the breeding process often resulted in visually appealing dogs who turned out to be intelligent and loving companions.
